Buccaneer Basketball Hosting Red-Black Scrimmage Saturday
On Saturday afternoon, Buccaneer fans will get their first chance to see the Buccaneer basketball teams.
The Bucs will be hosting their annual Red-Black scrimmage at the Toepke Center. Admission is free.
The festivities will start at 1:00 pm with the women's intra-squad scrimmage.
Following the ladies game at around 2:30 pm, the men and women will have a 3 point contest,
pitting the best sharp-shooters against each other in an epic showdown.
Following the 3 point contest, around 3:00 pm, the men's team will take the court for a 40 minute intra-squad scrimmage.
At half-time of the men's game, the high flying Bucs will take to the air to perform their best aerial acrobatics in a slam dunk contest.
After the game, any fans who purchase a $5 raffle ticket will get a chance to shoot a half-court shot.
Anyone who makes the long range shot will share half the pot.
In his second season at the helm, Coach Mark Weber has brought in some talented freshmen.
The Lady Bucs have an exciting new team and are ready to show what they are made of in their fast paced style.
The Bucs are coming off a 25-7 season in which they reached the Regional Championship Game for the fifth straight year.
Sophomores Seth Amunrud, Jordan Jasper, Justin Asi, Kur Maler and Sam Massaquoi are leading the way for Coach Joe Peterson's squad.
The regular season will begin with the Mon-Dak Conference Tip-off Tournament at 4 Bears Casino in New Town, ND November 1-3.
Their first home game will be on Sunday, November 10th. It is a one of a kind tournament with all 8 men's teams and all 8 women's teams from the conference.
Each team is guaranteed a game in each of the 3 days with the championship games being played on Sunday afternoon.
The Events Center is an NBA style arena that is a great place to watch a game.
