Gallatin’s Kale Fasting Signs with Dawson Basketball
With just a few weeks before the start of his senior basketball season, Bozeman Gallatin's 6'1 160 lb guard, Kale Fasting, has signed a Letter of Intent with Dawson Community College for the 2025-2026 year.
"We are thrilled to have Kale sign with us," shared Dawson Coach Joe Peterson. "He is a winner through and through. From his relentless effort on the court to his willingness to do all of the little things that lead to success. He may not always put up huge numbers, but he impacts the game in so many ways. With his focus and determination I know he will keep getting better and better. He is an important piece of our future. We are so glad he chose Dawson!"
In his junior year, while helping Gallatin capture its first ever Class AA State Championship, Fasting averaged 5.7 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 3.5 steals while shooting 49.3% from the field and 43% from the 3-point line. Gallatin finished 19-5 on the season and capped off a magical postseason run by defeating Missoula Sentinel in the championship 62-45.
Gallatin Coach Michael Claxton talked about the signing, "Dawson Community College is gaining an invaluable team player in Kale Fasting. A huge piece of the Gallatin Raptor 23-24 Championship team. His relentless effort on the court, high IQ, and explosive ability to make plays on the floor will be a huge asset for the Buccaneers! Looking forward to one more season's journey together during his senior campaign at Gallatin High School!"
Last year, Fasting was named Gallatin's Team Defensive MVP and he finished 4th in Class AA in points per field goal attempt and 5th in assists. He broke the school record for assists in a game with 11 vs. Billings Senior last season.
Kale Fasting commented, "I chose Dawson because it felt like a great fit. I'm excited to be a part of the DCC family culture and elevate my game. I look forward to growing as a player and an individual under Coach Peterson's leadership."
Kale's dad is former Buccaneer Mark Fasting. He had this to say, "After all the dedication, passion and hard work Kale has put into the game, we are so happy to see him take the next step in his basketball journey with Coach Peterson and the Buccaneers. Our family is proud and grateful for the opportunity to play for such a quality program."
Fasting played AAU this summer on Team Huestis and was coached by Shaughn McKeon. His Gallatin Raptors will open up their state title defense on December 14th vs. Helena Capital.
