Dawson Inks Texas Guard
Dawson Coach Joe Peterson announced the signing of 6'3 guard Chacaro "Kai" Guess. Guess attends Medina Valley High School, outside of San Antonio, Texas and helped them to a 23-11 record this year. As a senior he averaged 21.1 points, 5 rebounds, 3.6 assists, 2 steals and 1 block per game while shooting 52% from the field and 40.7% from the 3-point line. He was selected 1st Team All District.
"Kai is a high character guy with a great skill set," commented Dawson Coach Joe Peterson. "He's moved around a little bit and had to miss some games this year so I think he was under the radar of some college coaches, but he can really play! He can do a lot of things on both sides of the ball. I'm excited that he trusted us with his next step and can't wait to watch him flourish at Dawson."
In his junior year, he averaged 18.1 points, 8 rebounds, 3.9 assists, 2 steals and 2 blocks.
Guess explained his decision, "I chose to sign with Dawson because of their commitment to excellence and genuine support they provide. Their strong reputation, combined with a coach that truly cares about helping me grow, made this decision an easy one. I'm excited to jump on this new chapter with Dawson and see what we can achieve together!"
