Glendive, MT – Dawson Community College Athletics is pleased to announce they have partnered with Opendorse to launch the Dawson Athletics Marketplace, the department's official NIL (Name, Image and Likeness) market for student-athletes, creating an all-in-one NIL platform for the department with one of the industry leaders in the NIL space.
Through an online hub and mobile app, Opendorse provides the technology and services to cover student-athletes and staff with compliance, content and educational tools that will be used in the developing NIL landscape. The volleyball, softball, track and field, cross country, and both basketball programs will be using the NIL platform.
"This is an exciting announcement for Buccaneer athletics," Dawson Community College Director of Athletics Joe Peterson said. "Being able to provide our student-athletes with NIL opportunities is the direction all of college athletics is headed. Our goal is to be at the forefront of NIL. Most small college athletic administrators do not have the budget to hire an additional person to handle student athlete NIL opportunities. Opendorse ensures that with one click Dawson Community College student athlete NIL disclosures, personal profile pages and current contracts are available on our NIL dashboard. Our athletes will receive valuable training on personal branding, current NIL legislation as well as tax prep information."
Utilizing the Dawson Athletics Marketplace, student-athletes will receive an Opendorse profile, which they can customize and promote to fans on their personal social media channels. When offered a NIL deal, athletes receive a notification through the Opendorse app, where they can choose to accept and complete the opportunity. Once completed, the student-athlete immediately receives compensation to their account and can automatically disclose their activity to Dawson Athletics.
Dawson Community College is among 95+ programs nationwide to provide a single marketplace to send supporters to access student-athletes and offer compliant opportunities – and one of the first 25 NJCAA schools to do so.
Now, Dawson Buc fans, brands, sponsors, and donors can browse, book, pitch and pay any Dawson student-athlete for NIL activities in one compliant platform, built specifically for the athletes' needs.
