Canadian Pitcher Coming to Glendive
The Buccaneers recently announced the commitment of pitcher, Charley Vaughan. She will be joining the Buccaneers this upcoming Fall of 2025.
Vaughan, the daughter of Darcey and Shelley Vaughan of Onoway, Alberta Canada, graduated from Onoway Junior Senior High School in June.
During her time in high school, Charley helped her team win Provincials in 2022 and in 2023 her travel team finished fourth at the Canadian Nationals. Most recently, her softball team won gold at the 2025 Alberta Provincials. Vaughan hit the game winning homerun to triumph over their opponent 1-0. Her team is headed to the Canadian Nationals at the end of July where they will represent Alberta as the #1 seed.
When asked why she chose Dawson, Charley said, "I chose Dawson because the softball program will be able to push me above and beyond. The coaches are very welcoming and supportive and the community itself feels like home."
Head softball coach, Casey-May Huff, had this to say about her, "I am very excited to see what Charley will come in and do for us on the mound and otherwise! She comes from a very competitive program in Alberta so she knows how to work hard and that's a quality we really strive for in our program.
