Utah Outfielder Inks with Dawson Softball
The Buccaneers recently announced the commitment of outfielder, Maci "Jojo" Sparks. She will be joining the Buccaneers this upcoming Fall of 2025.
Sparks, the daughter of Sean and Lesley Sparks of St. George, Utah, graduated from Desert Hills High School in May.
During her time in high school, Jojo was a four year starter in centerfield. She was a part of the first team in school history to make it to the Utah state tournament. Her highschool team won the region in 2023, 2024, and 2025. Jojo was All-Region Honorable Mention in 2024 and 2025. Her highschool has been ranked top five in the state consistently over the last few years of her being there.
When asked why she chose Dawson, Jojo said, "I chose Dawson because everyone was super welcoming and I loved the small town feel of how close everyone is."
Head softball coach, Casey-May Huff, had this to say about her, "Jojo will be a great addition to our program and our campus. She comes from a program that knows how to win and she has been a large part of their successes the last four years. She is a great athlete, brings a lot of speed, and has a lot of drive and determination to be the best."
