Lady Bucs Split on the Weekend
The Lady Bucs softball team went to Minot, ND last weekend for a four game series. They won against Williston State College and Lake Region State College and dropped the games versus North Dakota Science and Bismarck State.
"We faced some adversity this weekend," Coach Huff stated, "Facing this early on has the power to fuel us for this upcoming season. It is not enough to just show up and wear Dawson across our chest, everything we do must be earned."
The Bucs had an overall batting average of .322, they garnered 29 total hits, and scored an overall total of 30 runs. Nekysa Wright, sophomore outfielder from Idaho, led the team with a .429 batting average. She had one double, two triples, and an on base percentage of .500.
This team has a ton of talent and potential," said Coach Huff, "we just struggled on the mound. We walked too many people . . . you can't defend walks. If we can get those down, we will be just fine. Our defense is solid and we have girls that can swing it!"
The Lady Bucs are headed to Jamestown, ND this Thursday for another four game series versus Bismarck State, North Dakota Science, University of Jamestown, and Bottineau.
