Lady Bucs Face Tough Games in Nebraska
The Lady Bucs softball team was in Scottsbluff, NE this past weekend for a four game series against Western Nebraska Community College. They lost three games 5-2, 5-3, and 5-4. They won one 8-1.
"We faced some adversity this past weekend," head softball coach Casey-May Huff stated, "our pitchers finally stepped up and did some great things but then our defense and hitting couldn't quite back them."
The pitching staff had a staff ERA of 3.08. Allie Anderson, freshman pitcher from Utah, posted an ERA of 2.33 with 15 strikeouts. Offensively, Stocktyn Stevenson led the team with a .357 batting average. She had five hits, one double, three RBI's, and scored four times.
"This team has a ton of talent, I don't doubt that, "Huff said, "that is why we play these games early on, so we can figure out what we need to work on before conference. We have all the tools, we just need them to all come together at the same time. This next stretch of games for us will be challenging, but you have to play the best to be the best."
The Lady Bucs are headed to Kansas City, MO on Monday, March 10th for eight games against three top 25 teams in the nation. They will play Johnson County CC (18), Metropolitan CC, Kirkwood CC (9), and Kansas City Kansas CC (23).
