Softball Takes Two From Miles
April 10, 2025
Yesterday was a great day at home for the Lady Bucs softball team. Winning 10-0 and 7-2 versus Miles, the Buccaneers came out hot!
In the first game, DCC came out swinging, scoring eight runs in the first two innings. They scored two more runs in the third and then held MCC to no runs, finishing the game in the fifth inning.
At the start of the second game, it was Miles who came out and put two runs up right away. Dawson had a slower start this game, but would eventually tie the game up in the bottom of the second inning. It wasn't until the fourth inning that the Lady Bucs took off with a bigger lead, scoring five runs. Holding that five run lead all the way until the seventh inning, the Lady Bucs took game two.
"The girls played great yesterday," Head softball coach Casey-May Huff said, "we had two great team wins against a strong conference opponent."
Freshman pitcher, Allie Anderson, had a great day on the mound! In 12 innings pitched, she posted a 0.00 ERA, only allowed 8 hits, and had 13 strikeouts. As a team, the Lady Bucs hit .460, with 23 hits, 5 doubles, and 17 runs scored.
The Lady Bucs are back in action this Friday and Saturday at home. Lake Region State will be coming to town for games at 12:00PM and 2:00PM both days.
