
Buc's Baseball Picks up First Win of Season in Oklahoma
The Bucs squared off against Redlands Community College in El Reno Oklahoma in their final series of the Oklahoma Road trip. The Game 1 Starter for the Bucs was Nate Kojetin. Kojetin surrendered 1 hit and 4 earned runs. Patrick Reno would come in relief going 2 innings, allowing 6 hits and 14 runs (5 earned). Reno would walk 6 and strike out 2. Cody Mortenson would be the final pitcher. Mortenson would go 2 innings allowing 2 hits and 2 earned runs. Mortenson would walk 1 and strike out 2. The Bucs Offense would drive in 9 runs on 8 hits. Jace Jarret and Dominic Phillips would lead the charge with 2 hits each. Reisdorfer, Korte, Proffitt and Bever would each record a hit. However the Bucs were unable to close the early game deficit and would fall 21-9.
Game 2 Ben Reikner would get the nod for the Bucs. Reinker would throw a gem for the a Bucs, going 5 ⅓ innings, allowing 2 hits and 2 earned runs, and 3 strikeouts. The Bucs offense caught fire early scoring 3 runs in the first Inning. Jace Jarret Would score first on a wild pitch. Keenan Hjermstad would single driving in Ethan Reisdorfer. Nick Proffit singled to right field driving in Adam Korte. Jace Jarret led the charge on offense with 3 hits, and 3 RBI's. In the top of the fourth, Bever would reach on a hit by pitch; followed by a 4 pitch walk to Riley Bykonen. After a pitching change for Redlands, Jace Jarret would hit a 3 run homer to deep left, adding to the lead at 6-2 In favor of the Bucs. In the top of the fifth Hjermsatd would double to center field scoring Phillips. Hjermstad would cross home shortly after on an error; making it 8-2 Dawson. In the top of the sixth Phillips would ground out scoring Jarret making it 9-2 In favor of Dawson. The Bucs offense would Tally 9 runs on 10 hits, coming from Jarret (3), Reisdorfer (1), Korte (1), Phillips (2), Hjermstad (2), Proffitt (1). Adam Korte would come in to shut the door for the Bucs. Korte went 1 ⅓ innings, allowing 3 hits, 3 runs, and 3 strikeouts. Redlands would show some fight late scoring 4 runs, however Adam Korte would shut the door in the seventh giving the Bucs their first win of the season. Final Score 9-6 Dawson.
In Game 3 Zaydin Nyuli would be the first on the hill for the Bucs. Nyuli would go ⅔ of an inning allowing 2 hits and 6 runs while striking out 1. Joel Bever would come in to relieve going 2 innings surrendering 6 hits and 5 runs. Juan Salaverria would be the final pitcher for the Bucs. Salaverria would go 1 ⅓ innings giving up 2 hits and 1 run with 1 strike out. The Bucs Offense would tally just 3 hits coming from Jace Jarret(1), Nick Proiffitt(1) and Dom Phillips(1). Phillips would hold the one and only RBI for the Bucs, singling to score Ethan Riesdorfer in the top of the fifth. The Bucs struggled to get anything moving in game 3 and fell 12-1.
Game 4 saw Aaron Tekansik start on the hill. Telansik would go 3 innings giving up 5 hits and 6 runs (4 earned) while striking out 1. Zaydin Nyuli would come back in game 4, this time in relife; Nyuli would go 1 inning allowing just 1 hit and no runs. Boede Rudd would follow on the mound going 1 inning allowing 0 hits and 0 runs. Adam Korte would be the final pitcher on the mound going 1 inning allowing 1 hit and 2 runs. The Bucs pitching staff kept the game neck and neck as the offense did their part to keep the game close. The Bucs offense scored 6 runs on 10 hits coming from Ethan Reisdorfer(2), Adam Korte(1), Dom Phillips(1), Keenan Hjermstad(2), Nick Proffitt(1), Teegan Collins(1), Riley Bykonen(2). Hjermstad would lead with 4 RBI's. The Bucs had many opportunities however the ball was unable to fall in Dawson's direction. The Bucs Wrap up the opening road trip falling 8-6.
The Bucs are back in action this Saturday for a four game series against Northeastern Junior College in Sterling Colorado.
