
Dawson Hosting First Two Conference Games on Sunday and Monday
Now that the Dawson Bucs and Lady Bucs have wrapped up their 16 game non-conference schedule, they will begin Mon-Dak Conference play at home this weekend. On Sunday at 2:00 and 4:00 pm they will be hosting Lake Region State College and on Monday at 5:30 and 7:30 pm they will host North Dakota State College of Science.
The Bucs just returned from Arizona where they finished 2-1 in the Pima Aztec Classic, beating #4 ranked Salt Lake 103-98, lost to #6 ranked Pima 95-92 and beat Central Arizona 103-84. Dawson is 14-2 on the season and in the top ten in the country in six different categories. They are 4th in turnovers forced (21.1), 5th in scoring (101.3), 5th in free throws made (276), 6th in 3 point percentage (40.6%), 7th in field goal percentage (52.3%), and 9th in steals (14.0).
The Lake Region men come into Sunday's game with an 8-8 overall record. In their last game out, they lost to Indian Hills 77-66. Lake Region beat Dawson in their last matchup in February in Devils Lake. The North Dakota State College of Science Wildcats are the defending conference and region champions, beating Dawson in the Region Championship game last March. They have a 7-8 record on the season currently.
The Lady Bucs are 5-11 overall during the non-conference part of their schedule. They are battling some injuries and trying to get healthy for the conference part of their season. The Lake Region Lady Royals come in on Sunday with a 7-9 record. The Lady Wildcats of NDSCS are 11-3 overall, but have lost their last two games.
