Dawson Basketball Opening Home Schedule with a Bang!
After a successful weekend at the Mon-Dak Conference Tip-off Tournament, the Dawson Buccaneers will host their first home games this weekend. The Bucs won the Mon-Dak Conference Tip-off Tournament for the third straight time this past weekend. The Lady Bucs went 1-2 on the weekend and are looking to bounce back at home.
On Sunday Dawson will play the Rocky Mountain College JV teams with the women's game at 2:00 pm and the men's game to follow at 4:00 pm. During half-time of both games, Isaac Fisher and the Flight Squad will be putting on a half-time dunking exhibition.
On Monday, Central Wyoming College is coming to town for the Bounce for the Brave Game. There will be a special start time with the women's game beginning at 10:00 am and the men's game following around 12:00 noon. The unique start time is because of the Veteran's Day celebration as well as the schools that will be joining in the festivities. Lincoln Elementary, Washington Middle School, Wibaux Schools and Savage Schools will be bringing their students to cheer on the Bucs and honor the veterans in attendance.
DCC is hosting a Veteran's breakfast in the cafeteria from 7:00-10:00 am with a special flag presentation at 8:30 am. All veterans will get into the basketball games for free and there will be special seating reserved for them as well. The day will begin with everyone receiving a flag as they enter and then the color guard will be presented before the 10:00 game. There will be moments throughout the day where veterans are honored by the wars they served in as well as their military branch. There will also be special videos played. At the conclusion of the games, veterans will pass out poppy's to all of the kids in attendance.
For the school kids attending, there will be special videos, music, contests and activities to keep them engaged and cheering all day long. Everyone is encouraged to wear a red shirt or black shirt for the games.
Cross Petroleum will also be providing free ice cream bars for everyone in attendance. Greg Cross comes from a strong military family background. Honoring veterans is important to who he is, where he has come from and what he represents.
Don't miss out on exciting Buccaneer Basketball and the special promotions coming up on Sunday and Monday.
