Jaiden Dulin Receives Montana Athletes in Service Award
Because of her dedication and commitment to helping others, Jaiden Dulin has been selected as Dawson Community College's recipient of the Montana Athletes in Service (MAIS) Award. Jaiden is from Baker, MT and is currently a sophomore at Dawson where she plays volleyball. She will represent DCC at a ceremony that will take place on Saturday, November 23rd , 2024 at the Brawl of the Wild football game in Bozeman between the University of Montana and Montana State University, most likely at half-time. Dulin and the other recipients also received a generous breakfast invite from MSU President Cruzado so they can get to know each other and share their great service commitments. The award is being given by
Montana Campus Network for Civic Engagement (MCNCE).
"Our Buccaneers and Lady Buccaneers do so much community service work around campus and in the community, it is a privilege to be able to showcase this, along with their leadership, compassion and resilience," commented DCC Athletic Director Joe Peterson. Over the past year Jaiden has volunteered for multiple community service projects. A major one she has
done on campus was volunteering to help the custodial staff clean up the athletic and performing arts center on a weekly basis, especially the weight room and the cardio room. She also has helped move the elementary school into new classrooms, helped teachers in their classrooms, served and hosted during the Buccaneer Bash, and helped with hosting the District 2C volleyball tournament. Besides helping to volunteer at the college and local schools, she has also given her time to help people pack up when they are moving.
Dulin works hard to serve others, just like she works hard academically and athletically. She is very deserving of this recognition and honor. The Montana Athletes in Service Award has three specific goals:
1. Honor civically engaged student-athletes for their commitment and engagement in community
service.
2. Raise awareness for civic engagement programs at member campuses.
3. Highlight student-athletes as role models to encourage more civic engagement activities throughout Montana.
For 30 years, MCNCE and its affiliate campuses have supported students, faculty and communities
across Montana with programs that encourage and recognize community service. MCNCE and the State
of Montana are proud to honor athletes whose extensive volunteer efforts have been of great benefit to
their communities.
