DCC Basketball Teams Final Tune-up for Regular Season
On Saturday, the Men’s and Women’s Basketball teams from Dawson Community College will have their final tune-up for the upcoming basketball season. Both teams will be hosting intra-squad scrimmages with the Lady Bucs tipping off at 2:00 pm and the Bucs tipping off at 4:00 pm.
The Lady Bucs return two key players from last year’s 20 win team. Alexius Foster was the conference Player of the Year and was named to the All-American team. Ejanae Coopwood averaged 9 points and 5 rebounds a game. They will be joined by a talented cast of newcomers who are looking to make their mark.
The Bucs only returner from last year is Great Falls product Reece Green who averaged 4 points and 5 rebounds a game last year, starting in 16 games. Thirteen freshman are competing hard to help the Bucs live up to last season’s success when they finished 24-8 and reached the Regional Championship Game.
After Saturday’s scrimmage, both teams will open up their season in the Mon-Dak Conference Tournament at 4Bears Casino in New Town, North Dakota November 2-4. Their regular season home opener will be against Northwest College on November 9th and then they will square off with Sheridan College on November 10th.
Admission is free. The first 20 kids 5th grade and younger to attend each game will also get Free Admission to the DCC Haunted Trail on Halloween.
