Dawson’s Conference Home Opener on Thursday Night
The Bucs and Lady Bucs return home on Thursday night to face off with the defending conference champions, North Dakota State College of Science at 5:30 and 7:30 pm. The Lady Bucs are 11-7 on the season and split a pair of road games to start out their conference season 1-1, winning at United Tribes on Thursday and losing at Lake Region 99-94 on Sunday. The Lady Wildcats of NDSCS have won the conference and the region for two consecutive years and have an 11-4 record on the season, but they lost to Miles on Sunday to drop to 1-1 in conference.
The Bucs are 10-8 on the season. They won their 6th straight game in their conference opener at United Tribes before losing to Lake Region on Sunday. They are in a four-way tie for 3rd place. NDSCS is one of the other teams they are tied with at 1-1 after blowing a 23 point lead at Williston and then winning against Miles. The Wildcats have won the conference and the region for four straight years on the men’s side. They are 15-3 this season and have high ambitions of winning a 5th straight title. Last year the men split their regular season games with each winning on the other’s home court. The game at Dawson last January was a thriller that came down to the final seconds.
Thursday night will also be Captain’s Crew Night with Dawson honoring the businesses who are part of the Bucs Club Captain’s Crew.
