The Dawson Community College Buccaneers Esports team wrapped up their regular season last week and qualified for playoffs for the third straight time in a row for their Call of Duty squads. This time, however, the Bucs are sending two squads into the playoffs. Both squads fought through their divisions to an 8-1 record, taking down some heavyweight contenders along the way in the likes of Navarro and Herkimer College.

The Call of Duty squads captained by Jonah DuCharme and Dallin Garner are preparing for their playoff matches set to begin on April 21st at 6PM. The playoffs will be a best of 5 format with 3 rounds of play and conclude with a championship on May 1st. You can watch their match and support them on their twitch channel www.twitch.tv/dcc_esports.

The Buccaneers had 7 individual squads competing in the NJCAAE this season across 4 titles. The Call of Duty squads finished 6th and 7th place nationally.

Coach Wentz said, "It's been a great run for the teams. They have played hot all season long and definitely earned their place in the ranks. We have shown up in a competitive scene and proven that we belong here. I am so happy for the guys getting in for the 3rd straight time and their hard work paying off. We know the competition in the playoffs is going to be fierce and we certainly will not go down without a fight."

Coach Wolff said, "It's been an amazing journey coaching these teams and we will be sad to see our sophomores go! However, as they graduate, with the determination and work ethic they have shown, it is clear they will see an abundance of  success going forward."
