Ellie Meeks led the way for the Lady Buccaneers gathering 80 points this weekend in the breakaway roping, by winning the long round in the Breakaway Roping with a 1.9.  Madee Moses qualified for the short round in the Barrel racing by placing in the top ten as well.  Ty Mackenzie led the way for the Men's team qualifying for the short round in the Bull Dogging.  Jessica Stevens and Peyton Hawtin both narrowly missed the short round with 11 place finishes in the Goat Tying and the Calf Roping, respectively.

Head Coach Shaylee Hance stated, “Ellie made a horse change this weekend, and it really paid off.  She has been balancing volleyball, rodeo and her academics, and it is nice to see all of her hard work show this weekend.  She is a great little roper and I am excited to see how the rest of her season goes.  Madee is a freshman this year and is a worker.  She started that horse herself on the barrels.  He is a little sore at the moment, so we hope he stays sound and strong at the season finisher.  Ty has been fighting a lot of injuries this fall, dislocating his shoulder, and straining a tendon in his elbow, so it was impressive that he had such a strong showing this weekend. We had some other kids just shy of the short round, and hope to see them keep climbing up the ladder.”

The Bucs will be competing at MSU-Western in Dillon this coming weekend.
