Dawson Hosting NJCAA D1 Men’s Basketball Region XIII Tournament Games
After winning the Mon-Dak Conference regular season championship, the Dawson Buccaneers have earned the #1 seed and will be hosting the Region XIII Semifinals at 6:00 pm on Wednesday, March 5th vs. the winner of the #4 North Dakota State College of Science vs. #5 Miles Community College quarterfinal game.
If they win that game, they will host the championship game at 4:00 pm on Sunday, March 9th vs. the winner of the other semifinal game.
The winner of the Region XIII Tournament will host the winner of the Region XI Tournament on Saturday, March 15th with an automatic bid to the Division I National Tournament in Hutchinson, Kansas at stake. The Bucs qualified for Nationals in 2021 for the first time in the program's 65+ year history.
Tickets are General Admission and sold at the games on a per day basis as follows: $10 for adults, $5 for seniors and students. Children under the age of 5 are free. Season passes, Bucs Club passes and Gold Cards can be used for post-season competition.
The Bucs finished the regular season with a 27-3 record (13-1 in conference games) and a perfect 14-0 record at home. Williston will enter as the #2 seed with a 10-4 conference record. Lake Region is the #3 seed with a 7-7 record. NDSCS and Miles are the #4 and #5 seeds respectively, with a 6-8 record. Bismarck State is the #6 seed with a 4-10 record.
Dawson is ranked #22 in the country in the latest NJCAA D1 poll. They are the 2nd highest scoring team in the country, scoring 101.4 points per game.
The Lady Bucs will enter the Region XIII Tournament as the #6 seed and will play at Williston State College on Sunday, March 2nd at 2:00 pm CST in a quarterfinal game.
