Lady Bucs Sign Aussie
The Lady Bucs added Lecita Sherriffs to their 2025-2026 recruiting class. Sherriffs brings an
impressive resume to Dawson with lots of experience in Australia as well as international
competition. Sherriffs is a versatile 6'0" guard/forward, equally comfortable on the perimeter or
in the post. Some of Sherriffs' accolades include a silver medal in the 16-18 year old state
championships, playing on the QLD North State National Team, and next month, for the second
time, will be returning to the Phillipines to represent the Filipino/Australian Homegrown
National Team in the prestigious NBTC International Tournament.
Dawson Coach Mark Weber commented," We identified Lecita last summer at the Run for the
Roses AAU tournament in Louisville, KY. We love Lecita's length, versatility, her ability to
defend multiple positions, and her toughness. She will be a great addition to our program as she
is a great student as well as a tremendous person."
Sherriffs on her decision to join Dawson "Dawson Community College felt like a great fit and
somewhere I would enjoy my first two years of schooling. I'm excited to be given this
opportunity to play as a Lady Buc! I look forward continuing to grow as an athlete underneath
Coach Weber and his high caliber program."
