Super Siblings Sierra and Peyton Summers Shine at the U of M Open
Sierra Summers placed 2nd at the University of Montana cross country competition on Friday, leading the Lady Buccaneers to qualify for the NJCAA Cross Country National Championships on November 9th. Clara Haslem and Abigail Stewart each posted qualifying times in the season opener on August 30th. Teammates Debra Don't Mix and Fernanda Hernandez complete the five-member qualifying team. This marks the first time in school history that a women's team has qualified for the National Championships!
Peyton Summers, who clinched his place in the NJCAA Cross Country National Championships two weeks ago, has run the fastest 8K time in the country among NJCAA Division II runners. Peyton finished 11th in Missoula. Teammate Aydin Jackson has also earned a spot at the National Championships.
The Buccaneers will next compete at the MSU-Billings Yellow Jacket/Battlin' Bears Open on Friday, October 4th.
