The Dawson Community College Buccaneers are seeking more nominations for the newly created Hall of Fame.  All nominations must be turned in by September 1^st.  As of August 21^st, the athletic department had received 7 nominations already and are expecting more in the final week before the deadline reaches. 

The mission of the Buccaneer Athletics Hall of Fame is to give appropriate recognition to individuals and teams who have made outstanding contributions in Intercollegiate Athletics at Dawson Community College while reflecting positive values and traditions of the institution.  The selected individuals will be inducted at a home basketball game in February. 

There are 4 categories for nominations:

1. Student-athlete- eligible 10 years after their final season at DCC and must have left in good standing.
2. Coach or Athletic Director- eligible 5 years after their final season at DCC
3. Contributor- someone who has shown outstanding service with longevity for DCC athletics
4. Team- eligible 10 years after the season they competed

Anyone is welcome to make a nomination on-line at www.dawsonbucs.com/hall_of_fame or you can email Athletic Director Joe Peterson at jpeterson@dawson.edu.

Any nominees who aren’t selected this year will be considered in subsequent years for three years and then will go inactive if not selected by that time.  They can be re-nominated again in the future.
