Dawson Volleyball Inks Scobey Athlete

Head Coach Dina Fritz has announced the signing of Emmie Fishell a setter and defensive specialist from Scobey Montana. Fishell has participated in four sports in high school and lettering in all of them; volleyball, basketball, cheer and track.

She was a part of a great volleyball year this past year where her high school team made it to the Divisional Tournament for the first time in five years. She was also a part of a track team that has placed at Districts and Divisionals the past three years.

Along with her athletic accomplishments, Fishell has been successful in the classroom where she has a 3.94 GPA and is on the Honor Roll and a part of National Honor Society. She has also received Academic All-State honors in volleyball, basketball and track.

Fishell had this to say about her commitment to Dawson, "I chose Dawson because it gives me the opportunity to further my athletic career, complete my generals before moving onto a four year college, and it is close to home. I loved the atmosphere that the volleyball team and Coach Fritz created while on my visit which played a huge part in my decision about DCC."

Coach Fritz says, "Emmie is another great pick up for us for next season. She is a local kid that has ties to Dawson where her older brother Aiden competed in basketball for two years. She has the ability to set, play defense and hit when needed so that versatility will help us have depth in multiple positions. I am excited for her to join us this fall and begin working with her."
