Dawson Volleyball Signs Wyoming Setter

Coach Dina Fritz has announced the signing of Aspen Baird, a 5'9" setter from Gillette Wyoming. Baird is a six-rotation setter that has experience hitting as well as setting and this past season she helped lead her to team to the state 4A tournament.

She has received multiple honors in her high school career both athletically and academically. For volleyball, she received Second Team All-Conference her Junior and Senior season and was third in the state for serving aces, academically she has been on the Honor Roll 4 years.

Baird had this to say about choosing Dawson, "After speaking with Coach Fritz I was impressed with what she shared and was looking forward to the visit at Dawson. Once on campus, everyone we spoke with was so nice. Meeting with Coach Fritz, the team and other recruits there was no doubt Dawson was right for me. I felt "at home" on my visit and connected with the energy and kindness of everyone I met! I am so excited for the opportunity to continue to learn and grow as a player, student and leader both on and off the court. I am so grateful for this opportunity! I am very excited and cannot wait to get started. Go Bucs!"

Coach Fritz says, "Once I found Aspen I knew that she would be a great fit to help lead our program next year. The way she carries herself both on and off the court is exactly what I look for in a setter. We are going to be young next year and finding a setter that can help bring maturity to the team is what you want. I am excited to work with Aspen and see where her drive and work ethic take her."
