Dawson Volleyball Signs Two Standouts from Lockwood

Head coach Dina Fritz has announced the signing of Abbe Case and Gracie Kuntz from Lockwood High School. Case is a 5'10" right side hitter who has had a decorated career starting in Colstrip. She was a part of the Lockwood team who made their first trip in school history to the State Class A tournament and placed 3rd at Divisionals this season. Before that her club team won the 2022 Big Sky Volleyfest and were nation champions that year as well. She was voted most encouraging, lettered all four years of volleyball and was academic All-State all four years. Case says, "As soon as I stepped on campus I knew it was a place I wanted to be. The atmosphere is so positive and wonderful, I can't wait to get started." Coach Fritz says, "Abbe is going to bring a lot to our team next season. She has a great attitude and work ethic, which coupled with her natural athleticism and leadership will make her a great asset to have on our team. I am excited to work with her and help her reach her goals."

Kuntz is a 5'4" libero who is a multisport athlete playing volleyball along with basketball and track. She was also a part of the Lockwood team that had a historical year this season. In volleyball she has won the best defense award the past two season and lettered the past three. In basketball she was academic All-State two year and lettered the past two seasons. In track she has been all conference two years and had 1 academic All-State selection and lettered three years. Kuntz says, "I chose Dawson because the first time I learned about them I knew it was going to be the right place for me. They have everything I'm looking for. The people are so welcoming to any new face they see making the move into college a lot less scary." Coach Fritz says, "After watching Gracie play and getting her on campus I knew she was going to be a great fit for our program. The determination and fearlessness she has when playing the backrow is unmatched. I am happy she chose Dawson and think she will be very successful in her future here."
