Dawson Loses Second Conference Game of Season

The Lady Bucs volleyball team took on North Dakota State College of Science losing in three tough sets. The scores were 22-25 in the first set, 16-25 in the second set, and 21-25 in the third set.

Scarlette Schwindt, who was just named Mon-Dak Player of the Week, was the leading scorer of the game with 11 kills. Brittany Kaufman was the second leading scorer with 8 kills. Reece Fleming led the team in assists with 22 and finished with 1 block. Kaufman finished with 2 aces and was tied with Lauren Rodacker for a game high 15 digs, Schwindt followed closely behind with 13 digs. The Lady Bucs had a great night on the net; Sierra Petesch led the team in blocks with 2, followed by Alaina Woods with 1.5.

Coach Dina Fritz says, "This was a tough way to start the conference season with two back to back games on the road, I think the team handled it very well and we've seen a lot of bright moments. Now we need to refocus and look onto next week's conference play."

The Lady Buccaneers are on the road again to Billings Montana on September 4th, where they play Rocky JV and Carroll JV. Following that they will head to Bismarck, ND to take on Bismarck State on September 6th.
