Dawson Lady Bucs Lose Home Opener to Dickinson State

The Lady Bucs opened up at home against the Lady Blue Hawks losing a close 3 set battle 25-19, 25-21, and 25-13. Dawson battled hard all three sets but fell short against the veteran Dickinson State team.

Leading the way in kills was Scarlette Schwindt with 13, followed by Brittany Kaufman with 11. Kaufman was also the dig leader with 19 digs, followed by Lauren Rodacker with 17, and Reece Fleming with 10. Fleming also pulled off a double double performance again with 23 assists in the contest. The Lady Bucs had three girls with 1 ace a piece and Alaina Woods led the charge on the net with 1.5 blocks.

Coach Fritz says, "This game was a great challenge for us to have in our non-conference part of our season. Going up against four year varsity players and being competitive is what we strive for. The girls kept their heads held high and pushed for every point. Every game is part of our journey and is making us better."

Dawson is back on the road this weekend to Powell Wyoming where they will be competing Thursday August 24 against Northwest at 7pm.
