Dawson Volleyball Off To a Strong Start

The Lady Bucs volleyball team traveled to the Bismarck State Invite for their first official games this season, and started off strong with a win over Miles Community College. Dawson got the three set victory with scores of 25-22, 25-21, and 25-16.

Coach Fritz was happy with the play of her players, "I am proud with the way the girls played today. We came in with good energy and attitudes and knew it would be a tough game and they played hard from start to finish. We still have a lot to work on but it was a great start to the season, it's always good to get a win under your belt."

Scarlette Schwindt led the way on the offensive end with a dominating 17 kills, followed by Alaina Woods and Brittany Kaufman both with 5 apiece. Reece Fleming had a great game all around, finishing with 27 assists, 2 aces and 2.5 blocks. Sierra Petesch and Lauren Rodacker also tallied 2 aces in the contest. Rodacker excelled on the defensive side with 12 digs. The contest showed the Bucs are a well rounded team with multiple leaders in different categories to earn the three set victory.

Dawson plays again Friday August 18 against Northwest College at 12pm MST and Lake Region State College at 4pm MST.
