DCC Track Wraps Up Indoor Season at Stinger Open

The Buccaneer track and field team finished out their indoor track season at the Stinger Open hosted by Black Hills State University.

 

The men's team saw 5 indivuals place in the Top 6 places in various events at the STinger Open. Skyler Rains placed 4th in both the 60m dash and the 200m with times of 7.31 and 23.65 respecitively. Chase Keating took 2nd in both the high jump (1.90m) and the long jump (6.58m) and then 4th in the triple jump(12.33m). Sawyer Haas and Robby Gress went 3 and 4 in the 60m hurdles and James Springer finihsed 6th in the 800m, winning his heat overall. 

The women's team saw Chaneille Richardson place 3rd in the 60m dash with a time of 7.92 and then 2nd in the 200m with a time of 26.19. Then both Emberlyn Hoffman-Gaschk and Lauren Rodacker scored points in the 800m, with Emberlyn taking 3rd and Lauren taking 7th. 

 

As the season comes to an end multiple athletes on the team finish on the NJCAA indoor track list of Top 100 performances. 

On the men's side in the 60m Hurdles Sawyer Haas is 72nd with an adjusted time of 9.20 and Robby Gress finishes 80th with an adjusted time of 9.34. 

Chase Keating finishes high jump with a 1.90 meters jump which places him 27th in the NJCAA. He also sits in 56th for the long jump with a jump of 6.58 meters and 65th for triple jump with a jump of 12.33 meters.

The men's Distance Medley Relay (DMR) team finishes 25th in the NJCAA with a time of 10:59 which was run by Eniah Boseman, Robby Gress, James Springer, and Connor Chase. 

Connor Chase, James Springer, and Ice Rattanapeth all finished just out of the top 100 performances. Connor finishes 104th in the 3000m  with a time of 9:22. James finishes in the 800m in 111th with a time of 2:01, and Ice finishes in shot put at 115th with a distance of 9.41 meters.

 

On the women's side Chaneille Richardson finishes in 54th in the 60m dash with a time of 7.94 and 41st in the 200m with an adjusted time of 25.86.

 Emberlyn Hoffman-Gaschk finishes 46th in the 600m with a time of 1:47, 44th in the 800m with a time of 2:27, and 61st in the mile with a time of 5:46.

Lauren Rodacker finishes 50th in the 600m with a time of 1:50 and finishes just outside of the top 100 performances in the 400m and the 800m. In the 400m she finishes 105th with a time of 1:06 and in the 800m she finishes 102nd with a time of 2:40.

Aaliyah Chavez finishes 59th in the shot put with a throw of 9.81 meters.

The women's DMR team finishes in 18th with a time of 14:10 which was run by Lauren Rodacker, Chaneille Richardson, Mia Snyder, and Emberlyn Hoffman-Gaschk. 

"We set school records and saw a lot of personal bests throughout the entire indoor track season. I'm proud of how the team competed all season and am looking forward to watching them continue to improve during outdoor track which begins in March" commented Coach Alex Chase Wolff. 

 

The track and field team will return to competition for the outdoor track season on March 18th in Billings, MT at the Yellowjacket/Battlin' Bear Open.
