Emberlyn Hoffman-Gaschk, who graduated from Billings Skyview High School in 2021 will be headed to run at the next level for both cross country and track at Dickinson State University in the fall of 2023.

Emberlyn will be leaving a legacy behind at DCC following her success in cross country and track. During her freshman year at Dawson she qualified for the NJCAA Cross Country National Meet in Richmond, VA. She finished in 7th place at the meet in Richmond earning her All-American status and being the top individual finisher at the National level for DCC.

After redshirting both indoor and outdoor track her freshman year, she returned to DCC in the fall of 2022 to again qualify for the NJCAA National Cross Country Meet that took place in Tallahassee, FL in November. She improved her placing from the year prior finishing in 3rd place overall in the nation, again earning All-American honors.

Currently Emberlyn is in the midst of her indoor track season where her current 600m time of 1:47 places her 45th in the NJCAA and her 800m time of 2:27 places her 42nd in the NJCAA. The final indoor meet of the season takes place this weekend on February 18th, and Emberlyn will be looking to qualify for Nationals in the 800m where the qualifying time is a 2:23.

Emberlyn commented about her signing with DSU saying, "I'm so thankful for my time in Glendive and at Dawson, but can't wait to start working alongside the women's team at Dickinson. I have grown so much as an athlete and as a person while being coached by Coach Alex and going to DCC which has prepared me for this next step in my running career and education as I move to a 4 year school."

Coach Alex Chase Wolff said about Emberlyn, "I have had the privilege to coach Emberlyn over the last few years here at DCC as well as when I was coaching distance at Billings Skyview prior to coming to Dawson. To see how much she has grown both as a runner but also as a person makes me so proud of her. She has overcome obstacles and worked so hard to be where she is at and I am so thrilled for her in taking this next step. I will most likely cry at our last meet together this spring during outdoor, but I can't begin to describe how excited I am to continue to watch her excel in running as she moves forward in her college career. Emberlyn has left her legacy at DCC through her accomplishments and I can't wait to see what else she does while running at Dickinson!"
