Lady Bucs Advance to Mon-Dak Semifinals

The Lady Bucs cruised to a win over Miles Community College last night winning decisively 72-55 in a Mon-Dak Quarterfinal game at the Toepke Center. After the game was tied 2-2, Dawson led wire-to-wire in the victory. The Lady Bucs led by 15 at the end of the first quarter and took a 20-point lead into halftime. Dawson dominated on the glass, out-rebounding MCC by 17 while also forcing 23 turnovers.

The Lady Bucs had four players score in double figures led by Kylee Old Elk, recording a triple-double, with 13 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists, Breanna Old Elk with 14, McKenzi Petersen with 13, and Alaina Woods with 11.

After the win Coach Mark Weber said, "I was a little nervous before the game having just lost to MCC Sunday. This win is a credit to the girl's willingness to make some offensive changes in two days' time. They bought in to what we needed to do to win. I'm very proud of their effort tonight and we're all happy to be heading to Williston."

With the win the Lady Bucs advance to play Williston in the Mon-Dak semifinals at Williston Saturday, The tip-off will be at 2:00pm CST.
