Lady Bucs drop game on the road against conference leading Williston State Tetons, cold shooting and careless turnovers resulted in too many opportunities for the Tetons. The Lady Bucs missed 10 shots over the first five minutes of play, allowing the Tetons to hold them scoreless. McKenzi Petersen connected back to back possessions to put Dawson on the scoreboard, down 12-4. Another field goal by Breanna Old Elk and a 3 pointer by Eirini Chatzinikoli ended the quarter with the bucs down 9-26.

The Lady Bucs came out stronger the second quarter and scored on their first possession and took better care of the ball to cut the lead down to 12 at one point, however, the Tetons controlled the boards and shot the ball well to reach a 42-21 lead going into halftime.

In the first five minutes of the second half, Dawson showed some fight outscoring Williston 9-2. Dawson then committed 14 turnovers in the last 15 minutes of play and could never get any momentum back in the contest.  The Lady Bucs were led by Petersen with 8 points and 12 rebounds as well as 19 points from the bench, led by Zoe Skeens with 8 points. The Lady Tetons were led by Allison Kunze with 20 points.

"Our carelessness with the basketball is our Achille's heel. It's hard to compete when we forego scoring opportunities by turning the ball over. We will get back in the gym and get better," said Coach Weber.

The Bucs return home for five home game matchups starting with the Lady Jacks of Bottineau on Thursday at 5:30 pm.
