Lady Bucs Hold on Late, Defeat Miles City

The Lady Bucs moved to 3-1 in the Mon-Dak conference with their victory over Miles Community College Sunday afternoon. They started the game slowly, finding themselves down by nine points early. DCC cut the lead and went to halftime down by four points. Dawson opened the third quarter on an 8-0 run and extended their lead to eight entering the final period. The Lady Buccaneers led the rest of the way, winning by a final score of 54-49.

Kylee Old Elk led in scoring with 29 points. Kamariah Hawkins finished the game with 10 points and 7 rebounds while Evelyn Old Coyote finished the night with eight rebounds and eight assists.

Coach Mark Weber said about the game," We knew it was going to be a hotly contested game as all our games versus MCC have been and will continue to be. It was a hard fought game. We still have a lot of room for improvement, which is encouraging."

The Lady Bucs travel to Bismarck today to take on United Tribes Technical College. Tip-off tomorrow is 5:30 PM CST.
