Lady Bucs Win 5th Straight Play 4Kay Award

The Dawson Community College Women's Basketball team was nationally recognized for the 5th year in a row as raising the most money for breast cancer research in the two-year college division by the Kay Yow Foundation.  The Lady Bucs helped raise $2,089.25 for the worthy cause this past year.

"Our women's basketball team worked really hard going all over the community and promoting this cause," explained Dawson Athletic Director Joe Peterson. "They take a lot of pride in it. People all over campus and businesses all over our community generously pitched in. And our fans really contributed big-time. It was truly a team effort!"

Play4Kay is the Fund's largest fundraising initiative with events hosted in all 50 states. Through the nationwide support of participating Play4Kay teams, coaches, fans, officials, and communities, the Kay Yow Cancer Fund continues to make a significant impact in the fight against ALL cancers affecting women.

The Fund honored DCC and the Glendive community for raising the most money in their respective division at the Wow4Yow appreciation event and the closing session of the Women's Basketball Coaches Association's national convention at the Women's Basketball Final Four.
