Lady Buccaneers Fall Short on the Road.

In a game with 15 lead changes and the score was tied 5 different times, it came down to the final
possession against United Tribes Technical College but the Lady Bucs were unable to secure the victory
and lost by a final score of 72-74.

The Lady Buccaneers won the rebounding battle (51 – 38) and shot a higher field goal percentage (41% -
38%), but unfortunately committed more turnovers (20 – 15) which led to a 21 – 12 point differential
from points off turnovers and the Lady Bucs had less assists (17 – 20) than UTTC. The bench scoring was
even at 25 – 25 for both teams. The real difference maker for UTTC was the amount of three point shots
they were able to convert by making 12 and outscoring the Bucs 36 – 9 from behind the arc.

Michelle Arens led the Bucs in scoring with 17 points, 8 rebounds and 2 assists. Hailee Brandon
continued her streak of good performances with 12 points, 7 assists and 4 rebounds. Sabira Ahayeva
added another 12 points and 8 rebounds. Alaina Woods provided 10 points and 8 rebounds while
Shannon Burton continued her improved play with 8 points, 4 rebounds and 2 assists.

"Our ladies are competing hard and improving, but unfortunately tonight we reverted to some bad
habits," shared Dawson Coach Rich Mullin. "The outcome of this game is frustrating because there were
so many positive moments where we showed real growth as a team; however, you have to give all the
credit to the ladies on the other side. Those kids played with tremendous heart and chemistry. Today
was not our day but we're right back at it tomorrow, facing the current leader in our conference."

The Lady Bucs will play at North Dakota State College of Science on Monday night at 5:30 pm CST.
