The Buccaneers recently announced the signing of left handed pitcher and utility player, Lilly Hutchings. She will be joining the Buccaneers this upcoming Fall of 2024.

Hutchings, the daughter of Kristy and Preston Hutchings of Midvale, UT, will graduate from Hillcrest High School in May 2024.

During her time in high school, Hutchings was the team captain for her wrestling and softball teams all four years of high school. She was nominated both Freshman and Sophomore year as Defensive Softball Player of the Year and Offensive Softball Player of the Year. Along with this, Hutchings was a 4-year letterman for both softball and wrestling. During her wrestling career, Lilly was the first female wrestler at her high school to place at state. 

"I chose DCC to surround myself with positive coaches and teammates," Lilly stated, " I know they will push me to be the best teammate and student athlete I can be. I knew right after my visit that I wanted to be a part of the Buccaneer family. Thank you Coach Huff and Coach Riley for this amazing opportunity. GO BUCS!!!"

Head softball coach, Casey-May Huff, had this to say about Hutchings, "I knew we needed Lilly from the moment I met her at a camp last Fall. She stood out right away for her energy, her hustle, and her willingness to be coachable. I am excited to be a part of her journey these next two years!"
