Three cross country runners will hit the road next week and head to Fort Dodge, Iowa to run at the NJCAA XC National Championship meet. The three athletes from Dawson qualified for nationals over their short cross country season. Coach Alex Wolff said, “I am so proud of the team and their ability to overcome adversity in the midst of this crazy cross country season. We didn’t have as many meets as we normally do, but they made the meets we did have count. I am excited that my three sophomores get to celebrate the end of their cross country season by going to Nationals. I can’t wait to watch them have fun, run fast, and compete at such a great meet!”

On the women’s side Kayla Parisien qualified to head to Nationals for the second year in a row. Parisien has a PR of 19:42.2 this year and is looking to place in the top 50 at the National meet next week. Parisien said, “I feel more confident in my ability this year and know I am capable of racing hard. I hope that everything can come together in the race and I can finish out my cross country season with a strong finish.

On the men’s side Zach Austin and Jonah DuCharme both qualified at the end of the season to head to Iowa next week. Both athletes are in their second year at Dawson and are looking forward to running hard and competing at the national level.

The Buccaneers race on Saturday, November 14th, starting at 2:30pm CST. Updates and links to live streaming options can be found at the DCC Cross Country and Track Facebook Page.
