Buccaneers Race at First XC Meet and Qualify One for Nationals

The Bucs are back and racing! Last weekend the Buccaneers traveled to Havre, MT to compete at the first cross country meet of the season in the NAIA Frontier Conference Preview Meet.

Coach Alex Wolff said, “It was a great first meet and I am excited to see what the rest of this season and this year have in store for us! We have returners that are ready to run hard and compete at a high level, as well as some newcomers that bring a lot of talent and positivity to our team.”

Kayla Parisien, a returner from last year, started the season out strong, finishing in 18th place and qualifying for nationals with a time of 21:18. Kayla has secured her spot to travel to Fort Dodge, Iowa at the end of the season to make her second appearance at the NJCAA Cross Country Nationals meet!

The team also had top finishers of 25th place (Zach Austin) and 32nd place (Jonah DuCharme) on the men’s side.

The Bucs have a limited number of meets this year, but are looking to have fun, run hard, and be competitive. Their next meet is in Dickinson, ND on September 28th at 4pm.
