Dawson Cross Country & Track Signs Runner from Idaho

Dawson Cross Country and Track Coach, Alex Chase, announced her first signing for the 2020-2021 season. Riley Bailey of Ridgevue High School in Nampa, ID signed his National Letter of Intent to run at Dawson Community College.

Coach Chase said, “Riley will be a great asset to this growing program. Not only will he help bring success on the track, but he will also bring a great attitude to the team. I am excited for Riley to join us and bring in positivity and leadership as we continue to grow and excel within this program!”

Bailey has had to move around throughout high school, but even with the challenges of changing schools, he has found success both academically and athletically in the high schools he has attended. Bailey has been running since 8th grade, has consistently placed in the top 3 with his relay teams at districts in Idaho, and has a solid foundation of PR’s in shorter and mid distance races. Bailey also brings a solid academic strength to the team, and involvement in a number of clubs.

“Riley is a great individual to bring to our program, our campus and our community at DCC and I am excited to see what he does here!” said Coach Chase.

Bailey said this about his decision to come to Dawson, “I’ve grown up playing sports and dreaming of a being a college athlete. When I was younger I never would have thought I’d be running in college, but ever since I started in 8th grade, it has been one of the most fun and challenging sports I’ve ever participated in. Track and running has definitely supported me through a lot and I am extremely excited to continue my career at Dawson Community College. It is a true honor and I’m very grateful to be given this opportunity. I will do everything I can to play a role in the success of this team. Go Bucs!”
