Buccaneer Track & Field Teams Compete at First Indoor Meet of the Season

Dawson Community College track and field teams competed at their first indoor meet of the season at the Myrle Hanson Open in Spearfish, SD. The Buccaneers had a successful first meet with a number of athletes placing in the top 5 of their events.
 
In the sprints, Jayden and Brayden Fraser of Ontario, Canada placed 2nd and 4th in the 60m prelims, and Jayden took 2nd overall in the finals.
 
On the track for distance runners, Zach Austin placed 3rd in the 800m and on the women’s side Kayla Parisien placed 5th in the 800m.
 
Overall, all the athletes were able to get starting times to improve from for the rest of the season. Coach Alex Chase Wolff said, “It was just good to be on the track again and see where we were at. We have areas to improve in and I’m excited to watch the team’s growth throughout the season.”
 
The Buccaneers will compete again this Saturday at the Dave Little Alumni Mile, again in Spearfish, SD.
