DCC Men’s Baseball drops another set

The Bucs dropped two games in Grand Junction, CO against Colorado Northwestern. The Bucs lost game one, 11-3. The Bucs came out quickly with back to back doubles from Kevin Castillo and Keenan O’Brien. From that point on, the offense stalled collecting only one more hit the rest of the game. Tyler Clapp pitched the majority of the game giving up 10 runs on 10 hits.

Coach McClure stated, “The team is beginning to come together but it’s taking longer than expected. Our inexperience is showing, but we will get back on track. Our freshmen are being asked to step into big roles and play at a higher level at a quicker pace.”

Game two ended with a score of 4-1 with the Bucs coming up with the short end of the stick. Dylan Martin pitched 5 innings giving up 2 runs on 3 hits, walking 1 and striking out 10. The offense did not show up for the second game. The Bucs only put together 4 hits and one run.

The Bucs will be back in action Friday at noon against Utah State University Eastern in Price, UT.
