Dawson Volleyball Fights for Conference Win

On Tuesday, September 24th, the Lady Bucs traveled to Williston, North Dakota. The Bucs took the Lady Tetons to five sets, but fell just short of winning the conference matchup. The Bucs played the first set with high intensity and won 25-23. In the second set, the Lady Tetons won 25-18. The Bucs returned the favor, winning the third set 25-18. The fourth set was neck and neck with the Lady Tetons winning 25-22. The fifth and final set was a hard fought battle with the Bucs coming up on the wrong side of a 15-6 score. Team leaders were Harlee Speth with 22 kills and 22 digs; Shayna Baugh had 16 kills and 3 solo blocks. Nynah Bryant led the way with 48 assists and Kinzee Koch contributed 21 digs.

On the next day, the Lady Bucs traveled to Bottineau, North Dakota and they came ready to go from the start, soaring past the Lady Jacks in 3 sets. The scores of the sets were 25-21, 25-23, and 25-16. The Lady Bucs stepped out on the court with confidence, ready to have fun, and played well as a team. Harlee Speth led the way in kills with 18 and Shayna Baugh added 14. Tawney Stanton also contributed 5 kills. Nynah Bryant had 32 assists, 8 digs, and 1 ace. Kinzee Koch led the way in digs with 23 and also had 2 assists. Anniekate Burghduff contributed 2 aces and 7 digs.

The Lady Bucs volleyball team will be on the road again next week with a game at Miles Community College on October 2nd at 7pm.
