The Dawson Community College Volleyball Team traveled to Billings, Montana on Monday, October 14th and took on Rocky Mountain College’s JV.
The Lady Buccaneers played well and it was a hard fought match. It took 5 sets to get the Lady Bears under control. The Lady Bucs came out firing, winning the first two sets 25-14 and 25-22. The Bears roared back, winning the next two sets 25-19 and 25-23. The fifth and final set was a battle, but the Lady Buccaneers tamed the bears down with a score of 15-13. Shayna Baugh led the team in kills with 16 and also had 5 digs and 2 solo blocks. Harlee Speth had 12 kills, 5 aces, and led the team in digs with 17. Nynah Bryant contributed 40 assists and 10 digs.
The Lady Bucs will continue to travel this week; going to Bismarck State College to take on the Lady Mystics on Wednesday, October 16th at 7pm central time. From there, the Lady Bucs will travel to Devils Lake, ND for the Lake Region State College Tournament on Friday and Saturday.
