DCC Volleyball Team on the Road

The Dawson Community College Volleyball team traveled across the state of North Dakota this week for two conference games. On Tuesday, October 8th, the Lady Bucs played Lake Region State College in Devils Lake, ND and lost the hard fought match in 3 sets. Scores were 25-13, 25-21, and 25-18. Leaders in kills were Harlee Speth with 6, Anniekate Burghduff with 5, and Samantha Egan with 3. Speth had 13 digs, and Kinzee Koch and Anniekate Burghduff each contributed 5 digs. Nynah Bryant led the way in assists with 14.

The Lady Bucs then traveled to Wahpeton, North Dakota on Wednesday, October 9th to take on North Dakota State College of Science. The match resulted in a loss for the Buccaneers with scores of 25-14, 25-19, and 25-16. Harlee Speth was the leader in kills with 9 and Kiana Miller also contributed 5. Shaunita Blacksmith stepped up the game at the service line with 3 aces. Nynah Bryant had 16 assists 4 digs. Kinzee Koch led the way in digs with 12.

The Buccaneer Volleyball team will continue to travel on the road this week with games in Billings, MT on Monday, October 14th against Rocky Mountain College’s JV at 5pm. They then will travel to Bismarck State College on Wednesday, October 16th to take on the Mystics at 7pm; they will finish the week with traveling to Devils Lake, North Dakota for a tournament on October 18th-19th.
