Dawson Volleyball loses hard fought match

The Lady Bucs volleyball team took on the North Dakota State College of Science Wildcats at home on Wednesday, September 11th. The Lady Bucs lost the first set 25-21, but they roared past the wildcats in the second set with a score of 25-15. The last two sets were hard fought battles, with the Lady Bucs coming up short with scores of 25-20 and 25-11. The Lady Bucs stayed with the wildcats and gave it their all to the very end, leaving everything on the court.

Head Coach Dina Fritz said, “We played a tough team very close and came up short. I am happy with my team’s progress and that we are getting better and better every day and every game.” Team stat leaders include Shayna Baugh leading the team with 14 kills, 5 digs, and 1 solo block. Harlee Speth chipped in 13 kills, 1 ace, and 16 digs. Libero Kinzee Koch led the way with a whopping 21 digs and 4 aces. Setter Nynah Bryant worked hard and had 30 assists and 10 digs. Shaunita Blacksmith dug up 7 hits. Anniekate Burghduff contributed 4 kills and 16 digs.

The Lady Bucs’ next game will be at home this Wednesday, September 18th against Bismarck State College. The match will start at 7pm. Come out and support the Lady Bucs for another conference game.
