DCC Volleyball Finishes Action Packed Week

The DCC Volleyball team had a very busy week. The Lady Bucs traveled to Bismarck State College on Wednesday, October 16th to take on the Lady Mystics for a conference match. The Lady Bucs played a hard-fought match but were swept by the Mystics 3-0. The scores were 25-18, 25-15, and 25-16.  Harlee Speth led the way with 9 kills, 15 digs and 1 ace. Shayna Baugh had 7 kills, 2 aces and 6 digs. Nynah Bryant had 15 assists and 11 digs. Kinzee Koch had 13 digs.

After Bismarck, the Lady Bucs traveled to Devils Lake for the Devils Lake Tournament. The morning of Friday, October 18th, the Bucs took on Providence Christian College from Canada and came out with a win in an intense match that went to five sets. The scores were 25-20, 25-15, 23-25, 19-25, and 15-8 in favor of the Bucs. Harlee Speth had a team high 20 kills along with 3 aces and 12 digs. Shayna Baugh had 17 kills, 3 aces and 5 digs. Nynah Bryant contributed 34 assists and 4 digs while Kinzee Koch had 25 digs.

Later Friday afternoon, the Bucs took on Assiniboine Community College and won in 4 sets. The scores for the match were 25-18, 16-25, 25-22 and 25-16. Team leaders for the match were Shayna Baugh with 16 kills and 7 digs; Harlee Speth with 12 kills, 1 ace and 15 digs; Nynah Bryant with 36 assists, 3 aces and 9 digs; and Kinzee Koch had 34 digs and 2 aces.

Saturday morning, the Bucs challenged Central Lakes College and lost the match in 4 sets. The scores were 25-23, 23-25, 21-25, and 16-25. Shayna Baugh led Dawson with 21 kills and 1 solo block. Harlee Speth had 13 kills, 2 aces and 13 digs. Kinzee Koch had 14 digs and 1 ace while Nynah Bryant contributed 40 assists and 5 digs.

Saturday afternoon, the Bucs swept Southeast Community College in 3 sets. The scores were 25-22, 27-25, and 25-14. Shayna Baugh led the attack with 16 kills and 12 digs. Harlee Speth had 9 kills and 11 digs. Nynah Bryant had 31 assists and 7 digs. Kinzee Koch had 10 digs while Kiana Miller had 3 kills, 2 aces and 9 digs.

The Lady Bucs will face off with Williston State College at home on Tuesday. On Wednesday, October 23rd, Rocky Mountain College’s JV will take on Dakota College at Bottineau at 3pm, the Bucs will play Rocky Mountain College’s JV at 5pm, and then Dakota College at Bottineau at 7pm.

Wednesday’s game on the 23rd will be a pink out so everyone is encouraged to come dressed in pink and ready to watch some great volleyball! The last home game will be held this Sunday, October 27th against Miles City at 7pm. The Lady Bucs will be honoring their sophomores.
