Lady Bucs Volleyball Finishes 1-3 At Wyobraska Tournament

The Lady Bucs traveled to Scottsbluff, Nebraska to compete in the Wyobraska Tournament on September 21-22.  They competed against all Division I schools once again during this tournament and picked up 1 win and 3 losses while playing very well against all the teams. 

The first team they took on was McCook Community College.  The Bucs played hard all three sets but lost in three with scores of 21-25, 18-25 and 15-25.  The leaders for this game were Lexi Begger with 8 kills and Shayna Baugh with 7 kills.  Samantha Youngman led the charge with 27 assists.  The Bucs had 3 girls with an ace and Erin Campbell led once again in digs with 12.  Also on the defensive side was Baugh with 4 blocks followed by Ebonay Clark with 3.5 blocks.  In the second game, the Bucs took on Trinidad and lost in a five set thriller.  After dropping the first two sets 12-25 and 22-25, the Bucs picked it up and won the next two 25-18 and 26-24 pushing the match to a fifth set.  The Bucs just couldn’t pull off the comeback and lost 10-15 in the fifth.  Baugh led in kills once again with 18 and she also tallied 8 blocks.  Youngman led in assists with 33 and the Bucs had three girls once again with an ace apiece.  Campbell had 27 digs and Cierra Loudon had 26 digs. 

The second day of the tournament the Bucs got their first win against Eastern Wyoming College in four sets.  The Bucs woke up after dropping the first set 22-25.  They won the next three sets 25-17, 25-22, and 25-12.  Loudon was the leader in kills for this game with 10, with Harlee Speth right behind with 9.  Youngman had 30 assists and Adalie Reinhart had 5 aces.  Loudon also led in digs with 17.  Baugh led the charge at the net with 10 blocks.  The last game of the tournament the Bucs took on the home team Western Nebraska Community College.  They were too much for the Bucs to handle as the Bucs lost in three sets 9-25, 18-25, and 18-25.  Baugh and Begger each had 7 kills and Youngman had 20 assists.  Two Lady Bucs had 1 ace and Campbell ended the game with 14 digs.  The Lady Bucs return home for a three game home stand starting on September 28th against North Dakota School College of Science followed up the next day by Lake Region State College on the 29th.  Both games start at 7 pm.
