DCC Volleyball signs Waldner

Coach Dina Fritz is excited to announce the signing of Kaitlyn Waldner of Langham, SK Canada.  Waldner is a 5’ 8” outside hitter and defensive specialist.

“I am excited to have added our first Canadian player and to reach into that talent pool.  Kaitlyn will be a great addition to our team next year,” Coach Fritz said.

Kaitlyn is an active member in her school where she organized the Terry Fox fundraiser for the past two years, helped coach the Junior volleyball program for two years, and is an active member of her school’s Student Leadership Group.  Along with volleyball, she also plays basketball, track and field, and badminton; all while keeping a very high grade point average.  Kaitlyn helped her team qualify for Provincials in volleyball from 2015-2018 and won the bronze medal in 2018.  She also received Senior Athlete of the Year, along with other honors in basketball, track and field and badminton.

Kaitlyn is excited to be playing at DCC next year and says, “Volleyball has always been my passion, I love the team aspect of the sport.”  Coach Fritz added, “Kaitlyn will bring some good defense to our team in the fall that we are losing from last year’s team.  She will add some depth to that position and also some versatility with her offensive capability.”
