Lady Bucs Open Up at Home with Win
Dawson Community College Women’s Basketball keeps on rolling with a win over North Dakota State College of Science. Dawson defeated the Lady Wildcats 68-59 remaining undefeated at 3-0.
DCC head coach Romeo Lagmay, Jr. said, “I was very pleased again with our team’s effort. I really loved our composure throughout the game with so many ties and lead changes. This team knows how to fight, and I hope they continue to do so. Our team chemistry right now is extremely strong.”
There were 14 lead changes and 8 ties with North Dakota Science leading by one at halftime 36-45. There were two Lady Wildcats with double doubles: Zaraya March had 10 points and 16 rebounds, along with 4 steals, but turned it over 14 times. Arthel Massaquoi had 19 points and 11 rebounds. Ambah Kowcum led the game with 20 points.
Though the Lady Wildcats were ready to play, the Lady Bucs were a tad bit hungrier. They caused North Dakota Science to have 29 turnovers, and converted 27 points from them. Dawson had a tremendous boost from the bench, outscoring the visitors 32-2. Dawson also had 24 steals.
Ashya Klopfenstein had a double double with 18 points and 10 rebounds. Aichatou Camara chipped in with 10.
The Lady Bucs will go back on the road to face cross town rival Miles Community College. Both teams are undefeated. The game starts at 5:30 pm on Tuesday, February 2nd.
