After 16 lead changes and 8 ties, the Lady Buccaneers of Dawson Community College (4-3, 12-12) were able to defeat United Tribes Technical College (1-6, 7-13) 76-72.

Dawson outrebounded the Lady T-Birds 61-50 and outscored them off the bench 30-7.  Despite 19 turnovers and 45% free throw shooting, the Lady Bucs used their full court and half court pressure to collect 14 steals and kept their composure to win the game.

Head Coach Romeo Lagmay, Jr. said, “I knew United Tribes was not going to let us off the hook.  Coach Peltier has her girls playing well, and they are not to be taken lightly.  We are proud of our Lady Bucs keeping their composure in pressure situations.  It’s great to have our team go through that so we can prepare for more battle tested opponents in the future.”

Ashya Klopfenstein collected another double double with 18 points and 12 rebounds, to go along with 2 assists and a game high 6 steals and 4 blocks.  Mar Marata Crespo had a break out game with a double double of her own with 10 points and 14 rebounds.  Tamiya Francis had 12 points, 8 rebounds and 2 steals.  Ashley Orozco scored 10 points, grabbed 3 rebounds, dished out a game high 5 assists and collected 2 steals.
