Dawson Community College Women’s Basketball will be the #5 seed on the road in Miles City, MT to play in the opening round of the NJCAA Region XIII Tournament against #4 seed Lake Region State College. The game is scheduled for Friday, March 1st at 5:30 pm MST. The winner will play in the semifinal round versus the #1 seed Miles Community College on Saturday, March 2nd at 2:00 pm. The championship game is on Sunday, March 3rd at 3:00 pm. Miles Community College is the host of the region tournament. The Lady Pioneers are the #1 seed and regular season Mon-Dak Conference champions.
DCC is 0-3 against Lake Region State College this year, losing in the pre-season Mon-Dak Conference tournament and two games in regular conference play. All three games went down to the wire with the Lady Bucs leading in every game, only to lose it in the final minutes. The last meeting between the two teams was in Glendive when the game went into overtime. If the Bucs continue on, they will face Miles CC, whom they lost to twice during conference play. Their last match up was in Pioneer territory a week ago and went down to the wire, but the Lady Bucs ran out of gas in the closing minutes. Dawson’s overall record is 17-13 and conference record is 7-7, which put them in a tie for 4th place in the conference standings with Lake Region.
